The Window to the Soul – The Practice of Iridology

By Editor Leave a Comment

The eyes are said to be, “the window to the soul.”

In iridology, pronounced eye-ri-dology, the study of the iris (coloured part of the eye) is looked at to understand inherent strengths and weaknesses in various parts of the body.

The eye is estimated to have 500,000 nerves, which connect each iris with the brain.

The brain is connected to every cell in the body. This pathway reflects certain conditions that occur in the body and records them in the iris.

About Irodology

The eyes are read by using a flashlight and magnifying glass. The examiner then charts the eyes. The specific marks or colours tell areas of concern.

There are only two true eye colours in the world today, blue and brown. Records show iris interpretation dates back in ancient China as far as 3,000 years ago.

In the late 1800’s two men, Peczely and Liljequist started to chart the eyes both documenting their own interpretation.

Two more recent pioneers are Bernard Jensen and the late Josef Deck of Germany. The interpretation of iridology is now so open to new ideas in trying to understand the full potential of what this science has to offer.

Rayid and Sclerology

Rayid is also a study of the eyes revealing more of the personality and how a person relates to others.

A new reading of the eyes is sclerology, which reads the markings in the whites of our eyes.

Incorporating all of these readings gives us a wider perspective for ourselves in understanding our character and constitution.

In reading the eyes there are different levels of tissue strength: acute, subacute, chronic and degenerative.

Acute is inflamed, sensitive, pain and a high activity; it is more white and raised.

Subacute is light grey and just below the surface, this is a weaker condition, with toxic absorption, lower metabolism and less pain.

Chronic is well below the surface, dark grey, it represents low metabolic activity, higher toxic build-up and lack of vitality.

Degenerative is completely recessed and black. No sensation, low circulation and tissue decay lowest.

Hering’s Law of Cure

According to Hering’s Law of Cure all cure starts from within out, from the head down and in the reverse order as the symptoms have appeared. This is the process the body goes through when returning to a healthy state.

In treating the whole person you need to treat body, mind and soul. When healing takes place light is incorporated into dark areas.

Eliminating toxins and building up tissue strength are the main areas to work on.

There are over 90 areas and counting in each eye to be read, with numerous different types of toxicity in each, the combinations are numerous.

Toxicity can be anything from environmental to metal toxicity to mineral imbalances. Imbalances in the body can be worked on through diet, exercise, herbs, proper rest, etc.

Hands on therapies such as massage, reflexology, acupressure, etc. complement these.

One step further is relating facial analysis, fingernail analysis, Chinese analysis and hair analysis. This information is like a map for ourselves helping us to understand our journey.

Iridology can reveal health difficulties many years in advance of their symptoms.

Just remember when looking at your constitution, all marks teach us lessons in life and are challenges for us to overcome.

So don’t panic, contact an Iridologist in your area and they can help you to understand what’s going on in your system.
